Double feature caps Harry Potter Film Fest

Oct 05, 2017
The “Deathly Hallows” movies wrap up the Harry Potter series starring, from left, Rupert Grint (Ron), Emma Watson (Hermione) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry).

Rockland — “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” Part 1 (2010) and Part 2 (2011), will be screened as a double feature as the final part of the Harry Potter Film Fest at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St, Sunday, Oct. 15, at noon.

Pre-show festivities for the finale will include a Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean tasting (for those who dare), face painting (a Harry Potter scar or Death Eater mark) and cups of Butter Beer. The Harry Potter Film Fest is co-presented by Allen Insurance & Financial, with support from Bangor Savings Bank.

Part 1 follows Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) as they search for the pieces of Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) soul that he extracted from his being and hid in obscure locations both far and wide. If the trio fails, Voldemort will remain immortal. Despite their long friendship, a combination of dark forces, romantic tensions and long-held secrets threaten to sabotage the mission.

In the epic finale (Part 2), the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. It all ends here. The films are directed by David Yates (II) and are rated PG-13. General admission tickets for the double feature are $5. For more information, visit; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email
