Don Brewer Blues Project for Monday Night

Mar 06, 2019
Don Brewer will bring his voodoo soul blues to the Monday Night Blues series on March 18.

Rockland — The weekly Monday night blues series continues March 18 with the Don Brewer Blues Project, playing a 7 to 10 p.m. show in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission will be $10 at the door, which opens at 6 p.m.

Maine guitarist, vocalist and producer/engineer Don Brewer Jr. and his all-original blues band have been bringing their gritty, swinging, juke joint high-energy music up to the Midcoast of late, and it’s time the Time Out crowd shakes its bones to it.

Although he’s been in Maine going on 20 years now, Brewer occasionally returns to Manhattan, where worked at Media Sound Recording Studios as an assistant engineer. In 2008, he played nightly to sold-out audiences for Tennessee Williams’ “The Lost Plays” at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre, one of the oldest off-off-Broadway theaters in New York. The Don Brewer Project currently features Brewer on guitar and vocals, Jake Sawyer on drums and Jeff Ramsdell on bass.

The weekly Monday series continues March 25 with the Eliza Neals Band ($15); April 1, Neil and The Vipers ($15); April 8, Dave Keller Band ($15); and April 15, Brandon Santini ($15). There also will be a special Thursday night concert April 11 with Biscuit Miller & The Mix ($15). Shows are subject to change.
