Dolores A. Demuth, new service time

Union — Dolores Ann "Dee" Demuth, 66, passed away at the Togus Springs Veterans Hospital in Augusta Saturday, May 4, 2019, from complications of cardiac arrest.

Born Oct. 15, 1952, in Omaha, Neb., Dolores was adopted at the age of 3 by Paul and Bernice Kriegler. She attended Catholic school in Omaha until the eighth grade, when her family moved to Chicago, where she graduated from a local high school. After graduating from high school, Dee attended secretarial school for one year before enlisting with the Army. After basic training, she was stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C., where she met her soon-to-be husband, Craig, who was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, in Sumter, S.C. After their honorable military discharges, they moved to Maine, where they were married June 7, 1980, at Saint Denis Catholic Church in North Whitefield.

After their many years of service, Dee and Craig decided to settle down in Union. She wore many hats over the years, working for MBNA, the town of Camden, Knox County Sheriff's Department, St. Dennis Catholic Church and finally finishing her working career at Merry Gardens Estates.

Other than her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her brother, Paul Kriegler Jr., and her sister, Kathy Kriegler. She survived by her husband, Craig, of Union; her birth mother, Margarita Leach, of Wake Forrest, N.C.; four sisters, Rose of Post Falls, Idaho, Marcy of Nucla, Colo., Liz of Van Horn, Iowa, Leorita of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Jim of Boulder, Colo., and Fred of Youngsville, N.C.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland. The Rev. Robert Vaillancourt will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Appleton.
