Rockport — A Warren woman was taken to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Gurney Street Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Just after 8 a.m. Barbara S. Moores was traveling south on Gurney Street, just west of Spring Lane, when she was distracted by her dog, causing her Jeep to leave the roadway.

According to the crash report, her vehicle crossed the road and struck a rock and several small trees and bushes before coming to a stop. The airbags deployed, and Moores was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center with complaints of pain in her back.

According to the police department, the dog was shaken but OK.

Officer Travis Ford responded to the crash at 8:10 a.m., while the Rockport Fire Department assisted with the extraction of the vehicle, which was towed because of disabling damage to the front end.
