Camden — Camden Rockport Middle School students participated in the Walk & Bike to School event Oct. 2. The annual event is held to bring awareness of the benefits of starting each day with physical activity and to help students experience positive health benefits that come from being physically active. The event also strives to bring awareness to pedestrian safety; using crosswalks in the downtown area and heavy traffic areas and to safe travel by bike or scooter.

Over 300 students participated, some who don’t normally walk or ride bikes to school and some who do. Students participated by arriving on foot, bikes, scooters, or skateboards. Staff were on hand to assist students by helping to alert traffic and ensuring neighborhood safety.
