Courier welcomes Swanson

Rockland — Tina Richey Swanson has joined Courier Publications as a staff reporter covering the city of Rockland.

Swanson's background includes Internet content writing, advertising and public relations copywriting. As a screenwriter she won a competition that included a residency in Hollywood and was a finalist for the Academy of Motion Pictures Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting.

Swanson recently served as executive assistant to the former CEO of Pen Bay Healthcare, and for seven years worked as the assistant to the Superintendent of Schools for the Five Town Community School District and School Administrative District 28.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the staff and grateful for the opportunity to write full time," Swanson said.

Swanson holds a bachelor of arts degree in telecommunications, theater and film from the University of Oregon. She lives in Camden with her daughter, Isabel, a junior at Camden Hills Regional High School.
