Midcoast Cancer Classic says thank you

Rockland Women’s Golf Association and Pen Bay Waldo Healthcare Foundation had a successful Midcoast Cancer Classic this past August, with 112 golfers participating to raise money for cancer patients at Pen Bay Medical Center. More than $25,000 was raised, because of the tremendous support from local businesses, individuals, volunteers and dedicated players who support the efforts of the golf committee. An anonymous benefactor again presented the committee a challenge that if we raised $20,000, it would be matched. The challenge was met and we are grateful for the generosity of the donors.

RGC Pro Keenan Flanagan organized the players, making sure the golf course was ready to take on 112 golfers. The Club House provided an excellent luncheon for this event. RWGA committee: Kathy Sprowl, Diana Sommers, Helen Plourd, Martha Bouchard, Jan Staples, Sue Wootton, Kathy Macpherson, Marty Jones, and Joni Hall. Additional support was provided by employees from PBMC and PBWHF.
