Conservation District offers DEP erosion control training April 11

The DEP Erosion Control Training & Certification course enables contractors to comply with the statutory requirement to have a certified contractor on all sites within 250 feet of a water body.

Rockport — Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District presents a Maine Department of Environmental Protection certification course in Beginning and Advanced Erosion and Sediment Control Practices April 11, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 524 Waldoboro Road, Damariscotta. The course fee is $70 and includes morning refreshments, lunch and training materials. Preregistration with payment is required by April 1.

Contractors must take this course to comply with the 2013 statutory requirement to have a certified contractor on all sites within 250 feet of a water body. For those already certified, recertification credits may be earned.
