Conservation District offers course on septic systems June 5

Camden — Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District is joining the Megunticook Watershed Association to hold a homeowners course on septic systems. The course will be held June 5 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Picker Room of the Camden Public Library, 55 Main St.

State soil scientist Dave Rocque will cover the basics of what a septic system is, new technologies, how the system is designed, what causes them to fail and the importance of homeowner maintenance. He will also cover how septic systems affect lake water quality. During the morning of June 5, Roque, also a licensed site evaluator, will be available for area residential site visits to address specific septic concerns at no cost.
