Community meeting on Comp Plan set for May 9

Apr 15, 2019

Thomaston — Thomaston residents are invited to come together for a talk on “Preserving Our Town’s Character” Thursday, May 9, at 5 p.m. at Watts Hall, 174 Main St. The gathering  will begin with a free spaghetti supper. The community conversation follows at 5:30. Child care will be provided.

Beginning in 2017, residents participated in a series of “Thomaston Talks, ”which assisted the Comprehensive Plan Committee with what are seen as the town’s greatest assets and its greatest challenges. Since then, the committee has been doing its homework collecting information from other sources and meeting every other week, as well as lots of Saturdays to analyze the data and map out a plan to move forward.

Now, the committee is ready to share its work to date and get additional feedback. The Comprehensive Plan is the basis for all decision-making in the town over the next 10 years. This community conversation is the first in a three-part series designed to be fun, informative and valuable.
