Church moves to year-round Sunday service time

ROCKLAND -- St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 11 White St., has changed to a single Sunday service at the same time year-round. Holy Eucharist is celebrated Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. Also on Sundays, there is a 5:30 p.m. Celtic service. All are welcome.

Union Fairgrounds hosts inaugural fund-raising yard sale June 16

UNION -- The inaugural Union Fairgrounds Giant Yard Sale will take place at the fairgrounds June 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of June 17. There will be up to 200 yard sales in one place.

Admission to the fairgrounds is $3 per person; 12 and under enter free. For more information, call Lori Carlson at 975-0352. All proceeds from the event will benefit the upkeep of the Union Fairgrounds and buildings.

Summer meals program kicks off on Waldoboro Day

WALDOBORO -- Healthy Lincoln County is celebrating the start of its sixth Summer Food Service Program at Waldoboro Day June 16 at the AD Gray School. Healthy Lincoln County will have an information tent at Waldoboro Day with meal site locations, schedules, menus, giveaways and volunteer signups.

The USDA funded Summer Meals program is open to all children ages 18 and under, no questions asked, and no registration required. For more information, call 563-1330.

Sweetgrass celebrates Father's Day June 17

UNION -- Sweetgrass Farm Winery & Distillery, 347 Carroll Road, hosts a Father's Day celebration June 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a barbecue and cocktails to try.

Bridge players to raise funds to Alzheimer's research June 20

ROCKLAND -- The Knox County Duplicate Bridge Club will sponsor two bridge games June 20 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. The games will be held at the American Legion Post, 335 Limerock St. Games begin at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will be tables available for social bridge players. Gibbs seeks donations for June 30 garage sale

WASHINGTON -- The Gibbs Library holds its annual garage sale June 30 from 9 a.m. to noon at the fire station, 40 Old Union Road. Items available include furniture, household items, antiques, tools, books and more. Breakfast at the Evening Star Grange from 7 to 9:30 a.m. To donate items, call Beth at 845-2611.
