Monthly tea party to include gazebo ribbon-cutting May 19

THOMASTON -- Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., hosts its monthly tea and conversation with sweet and savory treats May 19 from 3 to 4 p.m.. The tea is open to all without charge, but non-perishable donations for the Thomaston Food Pantry are appreciated.

This month, the tea prty will include a ribbon-cutting for its new gazebo. A gift from the Friends of the Thomaston Public Library, this structure will be used by the 40 Days of Summer program and will add space for other library and community programs. For more information, call 354-2453.

Library starts children's gardening club May 20

ROCKLAND -- Little Green Fingers, a gardening club for kids, begins Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at the Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. Its aim is to encourage children to learn basic gardening skills through crafts and games in the library's Children’s Garden, adjacent to the Children’s Room. The first project will be a container garden. All materials are provided, free. However, those who have a favorite planter, cup, or boot may bring it to create their own container garden in.
