Bean supper offered at the Grange Nov. 9

PORT CLYDE -- Ocean View Grange is offering the public a bean supper at the Grange on Route 131, Port Clyde Road from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults pay $8 and children $4 for admission, children under five and veterans are free. The menu will consist of beans, brown bread, Cole slaw, ham, pork roast, hot dogs, and more. For more information, call 372-8629 or 691-5735.

Managing Risk in Open Boat class offered Nov. 13

ROCKLAND -- It can be nerve-wracking to try and decide whether the conditions are right for a sail, especially when it’s bad weather. Learn how to apply risk management techniques from the aviation industry to identify, assess, and mitigate risk on boats. The Apprenticeshop is offering this class for free to the public at 6 p.m. at 655 Main Street.
