Virtual Zoom meeting on quitting smoking Nov. 19

VIRTUAL — Quitting smoking isn’t easy; let the Great American Smokeout, held each year on the third Thursday in November from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m., be the day to start the journey toward a smoke-free life.

Increase chances of making this quit stick by joining Waldo County District Tobacco Prevention Partner Barbara Crowley in a presentation on accessing free supports. Class is free; pre-registration required to obtain virtual access.

Free food boxes at Oceanside High School Nov. 21

ROCKLAND — Salvation Army of Rockland, in partnership with the Knox County Emergency Management Agency and Lancaster Foods of Maryland, is giving away free boxes of food at the Oceanside High School parking lot, 400 Broadway, to those needing food for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each box contains sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, cantaloupe, peaches, milk, chicken, hot dogs, eggs, sour cream, cottage cheese and yogurt. Some items may be different based on availability.

Sign-ups or paperwork not required. Everyone is welcome to receive a box from a masked and gloved volunteer, who will place boxes in the trunk or backseat of every visitor's vehicle who comes through the makeshift drive-thru.

Odd Fellows to offer craft fair Nov. 21

WARREN — The Odd Fellows Lodge, located at 37 Camden Road, will have its annual Craft Fair to raise money for the lodge Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be 30 craft tables in three rooms to allow six-foot distancing. There will also be lunch and raffles.

Take a break with guided meditation Nov. 25

VIRTUAL — Making time to recharge and relieve stress is important for your well-being and can be as simple as tuning in for this noon to 12:30 p.m. virtual class. Find a quiet spot and sign in for as much of this quick meditation break as you can. The class will begin with a 20 minute guided meditation, followed by five minutes of silent meditation.
