GentleBirth offered Jan. 6 to Jan. 27

VIRTUAL — Learn a new approach to child birth class that combines brain science, birth science and technology to empower positive birth through preparation. These Wednesday classes from 5 to 8:30 p.m. will include training and education in mindfulness, hypnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy and sports psychology.

A mobile app will be able to enhance the learning experience.

Advance Care Planning Workshop offered Jan. 12

VIRTUAL — Advance care planning is a process of reflecting upon and discussing goals for future health care decisions. It is a part of creating a written plan that represents individual preferences and tells others what medical care you want or do not want if you are too ill in the future to tell them.

Join advance care planning facilitator Vikki Swan for this Tuesday online workshop from 1 to 2 p.m., where viewers will begin the process of filling out an advance directive. This class is free; pre-registration is required to obtain virtual access.

Class on Augmentative and Alternative Communication Jan. 12

VIRTUAL — Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) refers to systems and devices that aid communication for those who find it difficult to speak. Children and adults with severe speech or language problems may need to find other ways to communicate.

Join this Tuesday class from 5 to 7 p.m. to learn what AAC is, what the benefits are and who can assess what might be the best type of system or devices for the child or person.

Postpartum Support Group held Jan. 14, Jan. 28

VIRTUAL — This support group was created by a group of women who went through challenging postpartum experiences and/or were educated on them. This is a safe place for new and expecting families to talk, listen and get support and education on postpartum experiences.

This is a free group for moms, moms-to-be and family members who want to connect with others. The group meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
