Union — Vose Library's April art exhibition, "A Retrospective—Editorial Cartoons of Douglas Coffin," runs through April 30.

Coffin’s single-panel, black-and-white cartoons were a popular feature of the upstart Waldo Independent — a Belfast-based weekly newspaper that from 1985 to 2008 provided lively competition to the deep-rooted Republican Journal, offering an alternative perspective on local news and issues.

This exhibit comes from the Belfast Free Public Library where it has been on display since March. Vose Library is located at 392 Common Road. For more information, visit voselibrary.org or call 207-785-4733 to make an appointment to view this exhibit during library hours.
