Jul 07, 2018
Robert Schweitzer has painted the Maine coastal scene for more than 30 years, with a primary interest in its special light and atmosphere, as well as its boats.

Port Clyde — The Port Clyde Art Gallery, 5 Cold Storage Road, will present “Coastal Light: Marine Paintings of Midcoast Maine,” an exhibition by Connecticut artist Robert Schweitzer, July 12 to 30. The public is invited to attend an opening reception Friday, July 13, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Schweitzer’s paintings may be found in many private and public collections throughout the country. Once represented by the former Art of the Sea Gallery in South Thomaston, the artist’s works were exhibited in the annual Marine Masters Show there. He won first place in the 2015 Maine Lobster Festival art show.

The Port Clyde Art Gallery, across from the Port Clyde General Store, is open Wednesdays through Mondays from noon to 6 p.m. For more information, visit portclydeartgallery.com.
