Waldoboro — Clyde Scott Campbell, 91, died Nov. 23, 2016, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Clyde was born in Bath, N.H., Nov. 10, 1925, the son of Louis E. and Vivian (Scott) Campbell. He was a graduate of Bath High School, class of 1943. He enlisted in the Air Force, receiving his pilot wings in August 1945. He retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1979 with the rank of major.

Following the war he was employed by the state of Maine Motor Vehicle Division in driver licensing. He later transferred to motor vehicle investigations, from which he retired in 1976 because of a heart condition.

He was predeceased by his only son he loved very much, Donald Clyde Campbell, in 2011.

He was survived by his wife, Ada Smalley Campbell (who died April 29, 2019); daughter-in-law Robyn R. Campbell and granddaughter Elizabeth (Beth) Renee Campbell.

There will be a graveside service with full military honors Sunday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at the Seiders Cemetery, 2754 Friendship Road, Waldoboro.
