Lincolnville — Before their recent return to school and classes, members of the Dartmouth College triathlon club team spent a few days training in Lincolnville and Camden.

One of the team members is Katie Clayton, daughter of Bruce and Julie Clayton. Bruce is a graduate of Camden-Rockport High School.

Bruce's mom, Lauralee Clayton, a longtime Midcoast journalist, snapped the accompanying photo of the team.

Pictured are 12 members of the squad, who spent a recent training weekend in Maine.

Bruce and his family spend a portion of the summer in the Midcoast.

The Dartmouth team members who came to the area were Katie Clayton, Abigail Baldwin, Brandt Slayton, Valentina Sedlacek, Sonia Rowley, Katherine Kane, Hunter Dominick, Russell Stewart, Emma Rodriguez, Carly Tymm, Emma Sklarin and Peter Blum

The young athletes spent a weekend swimming in Coleman Pond, biking and running on the roads of Lincolnville, and hiking in Camden Hills State Park as part of a training trip to prepare for their fall triathlon season.

The group was hosted by team captain Katie Clayton and enjoyed perfect September weather in Maine, she said.
