Clarence S. Hatt

Vinalhaven — Clarence Silas Hatt, 64, of Vinalhaven, died May 23, 2018, at his home after an extended illness. Born in Camden Feb. 17, 1954, he was the son of Lawrence A. and Olive Christine (Curtis) Hatt.

Clarence was employed by the Maine Department of Transportation as a bridge construction worker. He had previously lived in Jefferson and Rockland, before moving to Vinalhaven in 2000, where he worked doing lawn care and landscaping.

Predeceased by his longtime companion, Jenny “Taz” Hamilton, he is survived by three children, Candace Hatt of Lewiston, Brittany Nugent of Oxford, Nicholas Hatt of Portland; brother Ronald Teele and his wife, Sherry, of Rockland; sisters Gloria Emery and her husband, Robert, of Thomaston, Donna Mank and her husband, Wayne, of Rockland; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Private interment will be held in the Robbins Cemetery in Thomaston at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be shared with the family at Arrangements are with Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Camden.
