Camden — The Citizen’s Public Safety Academy is a seven-week course designed to help individuals understand what goes on within local and state public safety organizations. Participants will experience emergency services first-hand, and get a feel for exactly what they provide.

Classes are designed to be as hands-on as possible and will include, among other topics: fire suppression and hose use; special rescue & extrication; wildfire mitigation and traffic stops.

There is no charge for this class, but participants do need to call the adult education office to register. The class meets at the Camden Fire Department, 31 Washington St., Camden, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., and runs for seven weeks.
