Christmas program returns to Rockville

Dec 04, 2018
David Ferrazza, on the ladder, and Sue Tolman are committee members of the Rockville Community Chapel Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining the one remaining public building in Rockville.

Rockport — The annual Christmas program will be presented Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rockville Community Chapel.

While no longer an active church, the chapel — built in 1851 — is significant for being the last public building in the village of Rockville, which is now part of Rockport. The church, lovingly and authentically restored, is located at 87 Old Rockland St., which runs parallel to Route 17 directly behind the Green Thumb.

After a period of 50 years, the Christmas program tradition was re-established last year. In addition to Christmas carols, Pastor Paul Munro from the Owls Head Baptist Church will deliver an Advent message.

All are welcome. For more information about the chapel and the community of volunteers dedicated to its upkeep, visit rockvillecommunitychapel.org.
