Rockland — A children’s yoga workshop with Jessica Shepard will be presented Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Coastal Children’s Museum, 75 Mechanic St. Children ages 2 and up and their parents are invited to participate in yoga designed especially for young people.

Shepard has a yoga teacher certificate from ShivaShati School of Yoga and Healing Arts and a certification for teaching children’s yoga from Grounded: Yoga, Laughter, Elevation. She is also a practitioner of Mindful Life Yoga for Kids. After seeing what a quick and profound difference yoga made, she began to offer classes to younger children (aged 2 and up) at yoga studios, libraries, workshops, community centers, working with parents and children together.

The museum will celebrate Chinese New Year Saturday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to noon with a special related craft led by Marianne Swittlinger.

Both programs are included in the price of admission to the museum and are free for museum members. For more information, call the museum at 596-0300 or visit the website at
