“Making Disciples of Jesus Christ who worship Him by growing in love for God, love for one another, and love for a broken world"

Do you know what’s really special about us here at CSBC?

Nothing! Absolutely nothing!  If you are looking for a perfect church then you are going to be very disappointed with us.  At CSBC you’ll find real people, with real problems, who live real lives, and are all learning to love a real God whose grace is more than enough for all our needs.

You see, here at CSBC we don’t need to cling to our own “special-ness” or “goodness” because of the cross of Jesus Christ.  At His cross we find that we are really not so “good” after all.  In fact, we discover that we are unquestionably guilty and yet can be unconditionally loved and forgiven.

At Jesus’ cross we learn that He does not want to condemn us in our sins but to save us from them.  At the cross we find that God receives us just where we are but He loves us enough not to leave us there.  God can and will change lives.  He is changing us and can change you as well.

So here at CSBC there are only people.  People like me.  People like you.  People like us.  People who desperately need God’s grace.  Everyone is welcome to come and receive that grace.  We invite you to join us on this life-changing journey.

It’s A Trap!

It's A Trap! Luke 20:19-21:4 Pastor Adam Kohlstrom How would you summarize today's sermon to someone else? How is God speaking to us? How will you respond (Mt. 7:24-27; James 1:22)? Luke 20:19-20. Why did the religious leaders try to trap Jesus instead of admitting that He was the Messiah? ...
The King Comes

The King Comes Luke 19:28-48 Pastor Adam Kohlstrom 19:28-34. Here Jesus shows he is completely in control, demonstrating either His a) foreknowledge; or b) pre-arrangement of events. Why is Jesus' sovereignty and knowledge important as He rides into Jerusalem to die? 19:30. This is a “Trojan ...
The Gospel came to me on its way to someone else.

Habits of the Disciple The Gospel came to me on its way to someone else. So weekly I will make a gospel-investment in at least one person. “Success without a successor is failure” (Warren Webster). How does Judges 2:7-15 illustrate this? Even if our current generation is faithful (“successful”)...
My Table is the Lord’s Table

My Table is the Lord's Table So weekly I will share at least one meal to embody or extend His hospitality. Share at least one meal “Meals don't make community. They embody or express it… It's the gospel that creates community…” (Tim Chester). What then is the significance that Jesus gave ...
We are the Church

We are the Church, Pastor Adam Kohlstrom We do not gather to attend church, we gather because we are the Church. So weekly I will build the church by practicing Grace, Gratitude, and Generosity. Acts 2:42. The Greek word koinonia - translated frequently in the New Testament as fellowship - ...
