Chenier brings zydeco to the Midcoast

ROCKLAND — The weekly Monday night blues series continues Monday, Sept. 16, with C.J. Chenier and The Red Hot Louisiana Band, performing in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Doors open 6 p.m., and the music starts 7 p.m. Admission is $20 at the door.

C.J., son of late Zydeco King Clifton Chenier, is a Grammy-nominated, world renowned musician and recording artist who has shared stages with Paul Simon, John Mayall, Joe Sample and the Gin Blossoms, to name a few. His distinctive brand of zydeco mixes in blues and R&B for a music style that is fun for all ages. C.J. Chenier and The Red Hot Louisiana Band is a ready-made party with deep roots in Americana music.
