Cat videos, on the big screen

Mar 12, 2019
CatVideoFest is coming right at the Midcoast.

Rockland — “CatVideoFest 2019” will be screened Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m. at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St. Ten percent of ticket proceeds will go to the Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County.

Each year, CatVideoFest curates a compilation reel of the latest, best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos and classic internet powerhouses. Screening events take place all over the world, in a host of venues. They raise money for cats in need, often through partnerships with local cat charities, animal welfare organizations and shelters to identify how best to serve cats in the area. The all-new edition began touring in February; Oscilloscope plans to bring CatVideoFest to hundreds of theaters around the globe where patrons can enjoy the shared experience of communal joy that these videos engender.

“CatVideoFest 2019” runs 70 minutes. General admission tickets are $7.50. For more information or tickets, call 594-0070, ext. 3 or visit rocklandstrand.com.
