Cartwright’s ‘Garden’ grows in Port Clyde

Port Clyde — A new series in watercolor titled “Garden Music” by Spruce Head artist Katharine A. Cartwright will be featured at the Port Clyde Art Gallery between Wednesday, July 12, and the 31st. A reception for the artist will be held Friday, July 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, 5 Cold Storage Road (at the end of Route 131).

Cartwright is an internationally recognized artist and art instructor whose paintings are included in more than 100 private and corporate collections. Earning top awards in juried national exhibitions, Cartwright’s works appear in notable publications such as Visual Artist, A Walk into Abstracts, Best of America Watermedia Artists, v. 2, Artistic Touch 4, Pratique des Artes and Professional Artist Magazine. She holds signature status to the National, Northeast and Missouri watercolor societies. Her work was included in the Shenzhen International Watercolor Exhibition that toured seven museums in China from 2013 to 2014; and in several touring exhibitions in the United States.

Port Clyde Art Gallery is an artist collaborative located upstairs in the Red Barn across from the general store. In addition to featured artists, the gallery exhibit the work of its 12 members; and paintings by the late Robert Hamilton. Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Mondays from noon to 6 p.m.
