Camden-Rockport Middle School demolition begins

CAMDEN — Demolition of the old Camden-Rockport Middle School building on Knowlton Street began around 6 a.m., Friday, May 29, revealing the structure of the new school building in the background.

During the week of June 1, all furniture and teacher items now stored in the gymnasium and in the Mary E. Taylor building is being moved into the classroom wings of the new building, according to Principal Jamie Stone.

The newly constructed school building is on schedule to open in the fall on September 8. The Middle School educates students in grades five through eight.
