Camden man accused of sexual contact with a young girl

By Susan Mustapich | May 03, 2021

CAMDEN — A 66-year-old Camden man has been charged with unlawful sexual contact involving a young girl.

Lawrence Singer was arrested April 28 at the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Rockland, when he turned himself in after being notified of an outstanding arrest warrant.

The warrant was obtained by Detective Curt Andrick of the Camden Police Department based on an investigation that began in February.

Singer is charged with one count of unlawful sexual contact with a young girl under the age of 12. The incident is alleged to have occurred in January in Camden.

Singer was released from jail after posting $2,500 bail. Terms of the bail agreement are that Singer have no contact with the victim, the victim's father and no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16.

Singer denies the allegation. A report filed by the District Attorney's office notes a February email from Attorney Chris McLean stating, "Dr. Singer is completely appalled by the allegation and denies any inappropriate behavior."

He owns Singer Dentistry on Elm Street in Camden.
