Next, the squads will participate in the Kno-Wal-Lin (Knox-Waldo-Lincoln county) COVID Baskeball Tournament the first days of March.

Earlier this season, the Windjammers also bested the Lions 44-40.

The Kno-Wal-Lin standings are: Oceanside of Rockland 11-0, Medomak Valley of Waldoboro 9-2, Belfast 5-7, Boothbay Region 4-7, Mount View of Thorndike 4-8 and Camden Hills 3-8.

A couple of teams have another game early next week, but the Windjammers and Lions have finished their pandemic-altered campaigns. Thus, No. 3 Belfast will host No. 6 Camden Hills, played by Friday, March 5, with the winner moving on to play No. 2 Medomak Valley, to be played by Saturday, March 6.

In Friday's regular-season finale, the visitors led 10-2, 20-10 and 29-18 at the quarter breaks.

For the Windjammers, Mattie Luce tallied nine points; Molly Shook, Ella Powers and Ella Graffam, eight; Tessa Whitley, six; Molly Hixon, two; and Amelia Johnson and Sierra Laukka, one. Camden Hills netted 3-of-7 free throws. (43 percent).

Whitley also had 10 rebounds and five assists; Luce, seven rebounds; Hixon, five assists and five rebounds; and Shook, six rebounds and three blocked shots.

For Belfast, Madison Farris tallied 10 points; Lillie Mitchell, six; Jaiden Philbrook, three; and Hailee Lindelof, Halle Tripp and Lindsey Goughnour, two. The Lions made 3-of-4 free throws (75 percent). Farris scored her points over the final three quarters.

Neither team made a three-pointer.

Shook got the Windjammers sailing in the right direction with eight first-quarter points and Luce put the team over the top with seven fourth-stanza points.

"Molly Shook and Ella Graffam had great games tonight," said Windjammer coach Kim Kuhn. "Shook controlled the paint and did a great job rebounding the ball. Graffam had her best game of the season. She was aggressive and attacked the basket.Tessa Whitley did a great job containing Mitchell. It felt good to end the regular season with the win and we are looking forward to the playoffs."

And the playoffs will begin with a third meeting between the Lions and Windjammers.
