Camden Hills Crew gears up for competitive fall season

Camden — Camden Hills Crew competitive rowing, which runs Aug. 20 through Oct. 15, continues to gear up for a fall season on the water.

"Whether a competitive rower or new to rowing it is an opportunity to get out on the water and learn more about this exciting sport," said Kristi Hardy-Gilson, secretary of CHC. "The fall season is a great time to be out on the water rowing. The season will culminate in a series of competitive regattas around New England."

The schedule of regattas includes:

Sept. 15 — Community Rowing Incorporated Fall Classic in Boston, Mass.

Sept. 30 — Textile River Regatta in Lowel, Mass.

Oct. 14 — New Hampshire Championships in Pembroke, N.H.

The rowing program is for girls and boys from eighth through 12th grades.

Rowers meet Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. at Camp Bishopswood on Megunticook Lake.

The program cost is $500, which includes training five days a week for the eight-week season. The coach is Ryan Boutote.
