Hiram — The Camden Hills football team, in its second season competing in the high school developmental Class E, could not have gotten off to a better start in its first game of the campaign on Friday, Aug. 31 against host Sacopee Valley.

The Windjammers got a superb effort from senior Ethan Cayouette, who racked up all four touchdowns in the team’s 30-0 shutout victory over the Hawks.

Cayouette rushed for 125 yards on 10 carries and three touchdowns, while he also added a fourth touchdown on a 58-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.

The visitors got off to a hot start when Cayouette took the ball on the game’s second offensive play and scampered 55 yards to the end zone, which set the tone for the Windjammers.

"I am extremely proud of the way our boys played on Friday night,” said Camden Hills coach Jeremy Marks. “Their effort was consistent and was crucial in our win. That being said, we have a lot of things to work on and I look forward to the week of practice."

The Camden Hills defense was on its game as well, led by linebackers Will Thorn (5 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, fumble recovery) and Brady Hedstrom (3 solos, 7 assists). Seven additional players also racked up four tackles apiece for the Windjammers, the coach said.
