Coalition thanks charity ride participants

Thank you from the Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition to the sponsors of its Second Annual Ride-4-Recovery, which took place Saturday, Sept. 14, starting at Fisher Engineering and going to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Fisher Engineering again was the ride’s principal sponsor and provided the staging area for the motorcycle ride, as well as financial support to the Ryan Gamage Stairway to Recovery, a construction project that will increase residential capacity for men in recovery at The Friends House in Rockland. We thank them and the community-minded folks at Adventure Advertising in Rockport, Rock City Café in Rockland and Dunkin Donuts in Thomaston.

Much appreciation also to Fr. Bob Vaillancourt of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish, who delivered the blessing of the bikes and riders and to Ride Capt/ Kent Woodward, as well as to the MCRC volunteers who made the event possible.

Most of all, thanks to the riders from Midcoast Maine whose presence on the beautiful route to Pemaquid Point demonstrated our community’s desire to provide a “hand up” to our neighbors, friends and family members who work hard in the face of substance use disorder to recover their lives, their jobs and their families.
