Courtesy of: Walsh History Center, Camden Public Library MEMORY LANE -- Turnpike Drive, 1904. The turnpike was built along the base of Megunticook Mountain starting 1802, and took three to six years to build. It was a private turnpike that charged tolls, until purchased by Lincolnville and Camden in 1834.
