Camden — Camden Garden Club’s guest speaker Thursday, Sept. 26 will be Annie Kassler, the 2017 recipient of the Award for Recognition from the Maine Chapter of the Wildlife Society. The group will meet at the First Congregational Church, 33 Elm St. in Camden. Tea and coffee will be served at 9 a.m. followed by Ms. Kassler’s talk at 9:30 a.m.

Kassler is a devoted ‘bat advocate,’ creator of Maine Bat Education, and an active member of a number of regional and national bat working groups. In a lively presentation entitled ‘Bats – Nature’s Insecticide,’ Kassler will expose the audience to the truth about bats and debunk the persistent myths surrounding them.  She will demonstrate how to remove a stray bat from your home and also provide the latest update on White Nose Syndrome, the disease which is devastating bat populations across America.

The meeting is free and open to the public. For more information, visit camdengardenclub.org or email camdengardenclub100@gmail.com.
