Pam Cabañas is known throughout the Midcoast for her dramatic works in pastel, charcoal and ink wash.

Cushing — Friendship artist Pam Cabañas will have an Arts in the Barn solo exhibition opening Friday, July 21, with a 5 to 8 p.m. reception in the Cushing Historical Society’s barn at 17 Hathorne Point Road.

Friday’s reception will include musical interludes by Marianna Filippi. The show will continue Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Cabañas is a dedicated painter, both in the studio and en plein air. Loading her skiff with camera, easels and supplies, she wanders through the tides to explore the remote islands of Muscungus Bay.

Cabañas holds a BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. She is represented by the Jonathan Frost Gallery in Rockland. For more information about the artist, visit pamcabanas.com.
