Warren — C. Frank Olsen Sr., 81, passed away May 9, 2019, at Seaside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Portland. He was born in Thomaston Feb. 20, 1938, to Kenneth Olsen and Sylvia (Taylor) Olsen.

He grew up in Thomaston and Rockville. He married Leslie “Joyce” Flagg Dec. 29, 1958. He served in the Coast Guard for 20 years and 27 days. After the service, he worked at the Ted Long Service Station in Portsmouth, N.H., for 13 years before moving to Warren, where he worked for George C. Hall Construction for 15 years until his retirement.

Frank loved to go fishing, watch NASCAR and Bill Elliott. He was a prankster who missed his calling as a standup comedian. He enjoyed watching the Smothers Brothers. He raised ducks and chickens. His refrigerator door was always open, he loaned his breakfast to everyone and always made sure you left with food. He was a generous man, always willing to help others. He liked to play pool. Mud racing with TomCat Hildings and family and his special girl, Jill Hildings, and lobstering with Raymond Carter held much enjoyment for Frank.

Frank was predeceased by his parents; his stepfather, Robert Rogers, the man who raised him; his brother Ronald Olsen; sister Roberta Sedgwick and husband Thaxter; and great-granddaughter Aileana Harvey.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Olsen, of Limerick; son C. Frank Olsen Jr. and companion Diana Townsend of Ellsworth; daughter Kathy Smarrella and husband Tim of Limerick; son Robert Olsen and wife Melissa of Manchester, N.H.; daughter Jessica Batty and husband Mike of Spruce Head; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Irene Thibodeau and her husband, Theron, of Friendship; and brother Linwood Olsen and wife Brenda of Friendship; sister Beverly Tyler and husband Glidden of Bremen; sister-in-law Irene Olsen of Lewiston; and his special fishing buddy, Richard Lee.
