Coed soccer

Lincolnville 3, Camden-Rockport 7th 2

At Lincolnville Oct. 8, the Lynx cinched up home field advantage throughout the upcoming playoffs with a triumph over the Schooners.

Owen McManus netted all three goals for Lincolnville off assists from Mason Clark, Liam Day-Lynch and Nathan Oxley.

“The LCS defense of sweeper Roo Boetsch, stopper Hayden Clark, and wing defenders Canyon Palise and Chloe Day-Lynch had a fine day, but definitely found themselves stretched and stressed as the game drew to a close,” said Lincolnville coach Ben Edes. “Jaden Johnson provided strong support at midfield, as did Clark, Day-Lynch and Oxley. Finally, keeper Avery Luft had his best game of the season, keeping the Lynx in the game with a number of excellent saves.”

Lincolnville 3, Bristol 2

At Lincolnville Oct. 2, the Lynx bested the Blue Devils in a tightly-contested affair. Lincolnville held a 2-0 edge at halftime.

Mikayla Talbot and Mason Clear each scored for Linconville, while the third Lynx goal was converted after a corner kick trickled into the Bristol net for an own goal.

Bristol scored two goals within a minute of each other late in the second half, but the Lynx defense dug its heels in and held on for the win.

Lincolnville coach Ben Edes said “The improving defense had a good day as Chloe Day-Lynch, Canyon Palise, Liam Day-Lynch, sweeper Roo Boetsch, and keeper Avery Luft kept Bristol at bay for most of the game.”
