Business Alliance speaker to discuss community development corporation May 16

Tenants Harbor — The St. George Business Alliance will host Port Clyde resident Robert T. Kelley, Ph.D., as guest speaker for its monthly membership meeting at the Town Office, 3 School St., Tuesday evening, May 16, at 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Kelley is spearheading the formation of the new St. George Community Development Corp. He will discuss the organization’s purpose and mission — to help make the town of St. George and its villages more livable for all residents. “The CDC will lead and fund innovative projects that support economic development and workforce housing, expanded educational opportunities and increased access to health care,” Kelley said, “all in the interest of increasing our community’s resiliency.”

Kelley is a business leader and entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of LiquidHub, a global digital technology consultancy. He has served on the boards of several nonprofits, coaches entrepreneurs and serves on the boards of two Maine startups — Dream Local Digital LLC, and Abierto Networks LLC. Kelley received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and his master's and doctorate from Indiana University.
