Bruce I. Weaver

Searsport — Bruce I. Weaver, age 73, passed away peacefully in the evening of Jan. 20, 2020, at Bayview Manor in Searsport.

He was born Jan. 4, 1947, in Rockland, to Harold J. Weaver and Etta L. (Starrett) Weaver.

He grew up in Warren and attended Warren High School.

Bruce joined the Navy after graduation and was in active duty from 1966 to 1970. After being discharged, he remained in the reserves until 1972.

He then returned to Maine where he worked with his family as a carpenter and attended college at EVTI (now EMCC) in Bangor. He worked as a marine designer at Bath Iron Works for 22 years until his retirement.

He loved to fly fish and was an excellent photographer of animals.

Bruce lived the last decade of his life in a supportive environment surrounded by many friends and caregivers at Bayview Manor in Searsport.

He is predeceased by both his parents, his brother Brian, and his son, Preston Weaver.

Bruce is survived by his son, Patrick Weaver of Orono; his sister, Ann Ojala of Union; a sister-in-law, Patricia Weaver of Warren, as well as two nephews, Christopher Weaver of Nova Scotia and Mark Ojala of Union.

A graveside service will be held in the spring, date and time to be determined at the Fairview Cemetery in Warren.
