Breakwater marketplace evacuated following electrical fire

Rockland — Rockland Fire and EMS, along with the Police Department, investigated a fire at the Breakwater Marketplace at 91 Camden St. just after 11:30 a.m. Aug. 8.
According to Rockland Fire Chief Chris Whytock, someone called 911 after seeing flames and smoke from an outside power outlet, and the building was evacuated.
Electricity was shut off to that part of the building and it was cleared for reentry.
More than 100 people were outside the building while firefighters investigated the scene.
Camden, Rockport, Thomaston and South Thomaston Fire Departments also responded.
