Brawn shares ‘Spirit Daughters’ in portrait art show

"Imara," a collage portrait by Robin Yale Brawn.

LINCOLNVILLE — The public is invited to an art show reception on Sunday, July 21, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lincolnville Community Building, 18 Searsmont Rd. (Rte. 173).  The show features the portrait collages by longtime Lincolnville resident Robin Yale Brawn.

Brawn has been on a spiritual journey through her art. She began creating collages at 14 and gets lost in the process of composing her pieces with bits of ephemera, paint and vintage photos. This 12-portrait series is a combination of old and new spirits that came through the canvas to reveal… “The Spirit Daughters of Coleman Pond.” Inspiration along the journey has come through wonderful friends, family and other artists: Laly Mille, Maureen Egan, Kelly Rae Roberts and Susan Tuttle.

This event is sponsored by the United Christian Church (UCC). All are welcome and refreshments will be served. Music will be provided by Hope pianist Peter Saladino. For more information, call 763-3800.
