Body of missing fisherman recovered off Port Clyde

Port Clyde — The Maine Marine Patrol and local fishermen recovered a body March 27 at approximately 9 p.m. from Port Clyde Harbor.

The Marine Patrol issued a news release March 27 that a local fisherman's skiff was found adrift in the harbor with no one aboard. Marine Patrol, along with members of the Knox County Sheriff's office, local fire and emergency medical services services, U.S. Coast Guard and a large group of local fishermen and Good Samaritans began a search of the harbor and nearby shoreline.

The body of Travis Thorbjornson, 54, of Warren was transported to the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta for an autopsy. The Marine Patrol will conduct an investigation into the incident.
