Board of Selectmen position nomination papers available

By Susan Mustapich | Oct 16, 2020

LINCOLNVILLE — Three Lincolnville residents have taken out nomination papers for an opening on the Board of Selectmen, to fill the seat held by David Barrows, who died in a tractor accident Sept. 13.

As of Oct. 15, nominations have been taken out by David Perkins, Jordan Barnett-Parker and Jason Trundy. Trundy has returned his papers.

Nomination papers are due back to the town office no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. At least 25 signatures of registered voters of Lincolnville, but no more than 100, are required.

A special election will be held Dec. 15 for the vote to fill the vacant position. On  Sept. 21, the Board of Selectmen voted to shorten the time period filling out the nomination papers, which began available Sept. 28.
