Blind Albert Trio heads for State House

Augusta — The Midcoast’s Blind Albert Trio will be part of the Vietnam Veteran Commemorative Ceremony hosted by Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services Friday, March 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Maine State House, 210 State St.

In observation of National Vietnam War Veterans Day and to celebrate the service of Maine's Vietnam veterans, MBVS, along with the Maine Army National Guard and Gov. Janet Mills, will host a ceremony in the Hall of Flags. Vietnam veterans will be recognized by the bureau with a Certificate of Appreciation and Vietnam War Service Coin.

Vince “Blind Albert” Gabriel is a veteran of the Tet Offensive and a well-known local singer, songwriter, guitarist and bandleader. He, bassist Glen Dubose and Steve Lindsay on congas will play two 20-minute sets during the afternoon.
