Bertocci aces fifth hole, women stay in cool swing at RGC

Rockland — The following is news from the Rockland Golf Club:

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Phil Bertocci of Rockland recorded his first career hole-in-one, as he aced the 136-yard, par-3 fifth hole on the course. He used an 8-iron for his accurate tee shot, which was witnessed by Charlie Johanson.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, in women's association weekly play, in A Flight, Sally Stockman finished first gross 87; Kathy Harper, second gross 97; Jan Staples, first net 75; Molly Mugler, second net 76. Sally Stockman finished with the fewest putts at 30

In B Flight, Diane Bryant and Joanna Schleif tied at first gross 111; Joni Hall, first net 80; and Martha Bouchard and Joyce Cooley, tied second net 84. Diane Bryant  finished with the fewest putts at 30

The pin winners were: Kathy Harper on the fifth hole and Sue Wootton on the 10th.
