Benefit for Cushing firefighter diagnosed with lung cancer

Rockland — There will be a benefit dinner for Cushing Assistant Fire Chief Joe Yamello, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 335 Limerock St., Rockland.

Yamello, is a resident of Cushing who has always taken part in his community. After retiring from teaching, his heart remains with the students and he is always on call to help the surrounding schools. He takes great pride in being a firefighter in Cushing and always volunteers to represent the department when he is needed.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Meal includes: spaghetti, homemade meatballs, garlic bread, salad and an array of dessert. There also will be door prizes and raffles.
