Sep 14, 2017

Belfast — Singers are invited to participate in a choral festival that will run Friday through Sunday, Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, at the First Church UCC, 8 Court St.

The First Church in Belfast Choral Festival:  Songs of Peace for Our Times is open to individual singers, as well as local church, high school and community choirs, interested in blending their voices to bring a message of peace and compassion for our times. Practice sessions Friday and Saturday will lead to a concert Sunday afternoon at the church.

The festival will be led by Ronald Sherwin, music department chairman at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth; and Sarah H. McQuarrie, associate professor of music education and graduate coordinator at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass. Together, they bring a vibrant energy and scholarly approach, creating a fun and inspiring atmosphere for singers and audiences alike.
