Beech Hill Preserve closes to the public

Camden — Due to a large number of visitors recently, Coastal Mountains Land Trust closed the Preserve on Saturday, March 28th.

For the sake of public safety, what I mentioned yesterday about New Jersey's experience probably bears repeating here:

 

"Officials with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry understand during these challenging times, people want to get outside and recharge."

 

Here in northern New Jersey, the county closed all county parks and trails because, with nothing else to do, people - including whole extended families - were swarming the parks and trails and not maintaining a safe distance from one another.

 

Maine is, of course, less populous. But someone needs to be aware of and monitor this risk.
