Thomaston — Knox Museum will present Baroque & Beyond, a chamber music concert by Maine Friends of Music, Wednesday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Montpelier, the big white house at the Route 131 turn off Route 1 to St. George.

A popular Midcoast Maine summer performance tradition, Maine Friends of Music returns to Montpelier to fill its historic Federal-period Oval Room with a program spanning four centuries including music by Boismortier, Scarlatti, Poulenc, Hoover, Mozart, Larsen and PDQ Bach.

Members of the ensemble include Mary Sullivan, soprano; Linda Brunner, flute; David DeBolt, bassoon; and Sean Fleming, harpsichord and piano. This summer's special guest is Claire Pradel, professor of harpsichord and piano at the Conservatoire Jean Philippe Rameau in Paris.

Tickets are $12, $10 for members, available online at knoxmuseum.org and at the door. This concert is underwritten by Robert Kulp, with all proceeds benefiting Knox Museum’s education, preservation and military programs.

Due to its historic nature, Montpelier is not handicapped-accessible; one must be able to navigate stairs to visit. Carpooling is encouraged and visitors are cautioned that, weather permitting, exterior painting may be underway. For more information, visit knoxmuseum.org.
